BuyBack Policy: "BUYBACK" of textbooks for a specific semester will be conducted at the end of the previous semester, usually during the last two (2) days of final exams in December and April. The dates of Buyback are printed in the school calendar. A USED textbook company conducts the buyback for nationally used books as well as books only being used by our campus. After Buyback period has passed, Buybacks will only be considered on an individual basis. We pay up to half (½) of the original new price of the book providing the following qualifications are met. A. The book will be required for the next term. B. We have not yet filled our adoption quota. C. The book is in resalable condition. For books which are not currently being used on campus, but still having a national demand, the used book company will be able to make an offer somewhere between 15% to 40% of the original new price.

Here’s how the typical buyback scenario works:

The student pays $100.00 for a new text. IF the instructor re-adopts the text for the upcoming semester, at buyback the student gets $50.00 back (50% of original new price). Another student buys the text used for $80.00 (20% off new price). The text is again re-adopted. The student gets $50.00 back (50% of original new price). This goes on for three years at which time a new text is adopted and the cycle starts over again.

Thus, on an individually adopted text with an original NEW shelf price of $100.00, the total amount paid by the student was $50.00 for new, or a mere $30.00 for a used text.

Please keep in mind the following points:
If you wish to receive CASH, you must clear your student account BEFORE attempting to sell your books back.
Recycling books is good for the environment.
Used books with handwriting or highlighting may still have value.
Authors, publishers and the market determine book values.
Wholesale prices are based on national supply and demand.
Copies in poor condition will be deducted appropriately.
Old editions have no value and cannot be purchased by the used book company or the bookstore.
Receipts are not needed for BUYBACK.
